The Buffalo Jewish Federation is excited to announce plans for a community-wide trip to honor and celebrate Israel's 70th birthday. Scheduled for late October 2018, we are in the process of gathering information to help us shape the trip experience with a diverse group of community members.
Calling it "Israel 70@70", our goal is to provide a rich, shared experience for a minimum of 70 individuals from the Buffalo community. A central element of the trip will be specialized tracks to encourage personalized experiences. The HRC is proud to congratulate one of its New Generation Initiative Staff Members, Lori Raybold, on her completion of TWO national teaching fellowships last week in Washington, DC with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and the US Institute of Peace.
The Coordinator of our agency's Handel Teacher Trip to Washington, we are so thankful for her wonderful work with local educators, keeping the memory and lessons of the Holocaust alive.

TENTH ANNUAL WALK OFF HUNGER

The Food Bank of WNY is thrilled to announce its 10th Annual Walk Off Hunger will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Island Park in Williamsville! This fun, family-friendly event will once again be presented by Life Storage, and hosted by Calvary Episcopal Church and Congregation Shir Shalom.
Walk Off Hunger is a two-mile scenic walk through the Village of Williamsville. The walk is followed up with a festival full of children’s activities, musical entertainment, bounce houses, food and refreshments. Last year, Walk Off Hunger and Summerfest drew more than 650 attendees.
All proceeds from Walk Off Hunger will benefit the Food Bank of WNY as it continues to procure and distribute nutritious food to as many as 135,000 individuals in any given month through our 341 member agencies in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. Every $1 raised helps the Food Bank of WNY provide 6 meals for our neighbors in need. Since its inception, Walk Off Hunger has helped provide nearly 2.9 million meals to hungry families, seniors and children in our community!
