Restaurant Valentine's Day

Booking a restaurant this Valentine’s Day

As the old saying goes ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach’. Having said that, if you wish to impress your partner this Valentine’s Day, & are thinking of treating them to a delicious meal in your favourite restaurant, there are a few things that you should think about.

Plan ahead – the best deals advertise in January!

Firstly, if you are not quite feeling the love at the moment, I recommend reading a romance novel such as Heather Graham’s ‘One Wore Blue’. Featuring a romantic story set in the 1600th century, this is a must-read for all lovebirds. Now that you are in the mood for love, let’s get started planning our romantic date night. What’s important to consider here is that restaurants usually advertise their Valentine’s night promotion 15 to 20 days before the event itself. Therefore, it’s important to plan ahead. Restaurants will be using all kinds of marketing platforms such as Google, social media, restaurant apps, email communications, etc, to promote their offer. Ensure that you subscribe to the advertisements of your best-loved restaurant to snatch those exclusive offers!

Try someplace new this Valentine’s Day

As above, all restaurants will offer a deal worth taking advantage of this Valentine’s Day. In light of these offers, surprise your loved one. Here, you have two options. Either do as 40% of people do and book your favourite restaurant as you know that they will love it. Or, take advantage of the sophisticated menus available and try a new restaurant for both of you. While you may have chosen this restaurant as it had the most enticing offer, you can tell your partner that you wanted to treat him/her to somewhere special this Valentine’s Day. With this intention, everyone is happy, including your wallet!

Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday

This year, Valentine’s day falls on Sunday 14th February 2021. Many couples tend to avoid eating out on the day itself, as the restaurant is so busy that they feel they do not receive the level of service they usually would. With the special menu & a full restaurant, neither the waiters nor the diners are at their best. With this in mind, my advice would be to take advantage of the day that it falls on this year. Nobody goes out on a Sunday due to work commitments the next day. You both want to enjoy this night! So, make a reservation for Friday or Saturday night instead, and head out on the town for a few drinks afterward. Most importantly, feel relaxed & enjoy each other’s company.

A small gesture can have a big impact

Generally speaking, anyone can make a restaurant reservation. In order to really impress your beloved, do not forget those extra touches. A delicious heart-shaped cake for dessert. A bouquet of roses to be waiting at the table. Even something as simple as a handwritten card containing a meaningful message. This extra gesture will set the precedent for the next years ahead.
