Obvious beauty tips that are easy to forget!

Sometimes we need Captain Obvious to get involved and remind us of the ABC’s of beauty tips and self-care. We live in a busy world, and with so much on our minds, it can be easy to forget or neglect the simple stuff. The easy, but oh so important tips and tricks we all should be doing daily.  Here are the beauty tips I feel are easy to forget or let slip by without notice, due to a hectic schedule. Let’s be nice to ourselves, and remind each other to never neglect our self-care again!

Drinking water is a beauty tip

The advice you’re always told is “8 glasses of water a day”. And I always think, “that’s easy, I do that naturally anyway”. But when thinking about it, do I actually? So many times when I’m feeling thirsty, I’ll go to the kitchen and grab a can of Coke before a glass of water.

That is of course totally fine, but makes me question how much water do I actually drink? After starting to think more about it, I became more aware. Now I’ll fill up that glass from the spring, before opening up a can instead. Water helps to remove toxins from the body. This is why water is so important, not only for your health and body but also for your skin. I know that when I drink more water, my skin seems more healthy and gets this beautiful glow. 


The most important character in Sleeping Beauty was sleep! 

The alarm clock is buzzing like crazy, and you have to drag yourself out of bed. Do you wake up tired, or do you wake up feeling rested and ready for the day? If the answer is the first one, you might be lacking sleep. Do you get the required 7 to 9 hours of sleep on a regular basis? If not, try going to bed at an earlier time if possible. For your body and mind to properly function, this is the most basic requirement. Enough sleep is important for keeping stress and diseases away.

From a more superficial side, this beauty tip will help refreshen you. Lack of sleep often results in dark circles under the eyes and dull skin. So go to bed, sleep, and wake up beautiful! A beauty tip for the ages! Scrub, rub, and moisturize all over! 

I’m usually really good at applying body lotion during the summertime. This is due to all the use of suntan lotion and after sun. While I seem to “forget” it more during the colder months. Maybe because I’m covered up in big sweaters and jackets. It’s of course just as important to moisturize, regardless of what month we are in. It’s recommended to apply body lotion two times a day. After a shower, and before going to bed. Use a body lotion without perfume and alcohol. I use this one, and haven’t looked back!
